Our client had been struggling for years with coordinating the daily tasks of more than 100 employees. Work schedules and task lists were maintained in multiple parallel Excel spreadsheets, edited by several people each day—mostly on mobile devices, out in the field.

We delivered a custom-designed Microsoft PowerApps Canvas mobile application tailored to the client’s operational workflow.
Key elements of the solution:

  • A mobile-friendly interface that is easy to use.
  • Employees must see when and with whom they are scheduled to work.
  • Task-related information should be easily accessible.
  • Automatic notifications when data changes.
  • The interface should follow the previously used Excel conventions.
  • An Admin role with full visibility and access to global settings.

Implemented Solution

We delivered a custom-designed Microsoft PowerApps Canvas mobile application tailored to the client’s operational workflow.
Key elements of the solution:

  • A Power Automate–based automation extracts data from the existing Excel files, so the original data entry process remains unchanged.
  • Extracted data is stored in SharePoint Online lists, resulting in reduced operational costs.
  • The user interface allows employees to:
    • view their weekly schedule,
    • switch between weeks,
    • see co‑assigned colleagues,
    • tap on a colleague to view contact details,
    • access task-specific information in pop-up windows.
  • The app refreshes data every 2 hoursand sends notifications when changes occur.
  • The Admin panel provides options to:
    • disable automatic updates,
    • trigger manual data imports,
    • manage global notification settings.

Employees can also disable notifications individually.

Final Result:

The final product is a clean, intuitive, mobile‑friendly application that requires minimal or no training, thanks to its use of the familiar Excel-based structure.
As a result, more than 100 employees now benefit from a faster, clearer, and more efficient daily workflow.
